The workshop in Athens Greece, in the framework of the project “Justice for Women – Towards a more effective rights protection and access to judicial procedures for victims of crimes” was held in the city of Athens 29th November 2019.
The event gathered 36 participants (lawyers, police officers, judges, social workers, representatives of institutions and organizations that assist victims of crime).
The aim of the workshop, through experiential exercises and real-life case studies, was to examine the whole spectrum of dealing with women – victims of violence: the interaction of all actors involved, the optimal treatment of victims, how to deal with trauma and reverse its consequences, access to justice for women victims of violence, the safeguarding of their rights and the civil and criminal procedures applicable to their protection, the punishment of perpetrators and the compensation of victims. Another aim of the workshop was the empirical learning through experiential methods and engaging in active discussion.
